We are dedicated to engaging our community in the regenerative, humanely raised aspects of farming, and we want our supporters to see us as the future of sustainable agriculture. We take pride in providing local, high-quality, non-GMO, grass-fed meat because of its superior nutrient density. By bypassing the supermarket and obtaining our high-quality meat directly from our farm, individuals can get closer to the source and experience the benefits of our ethical and sustainable farming practices.

The Stead Farm

We specialize in offering nutritious grass-fed Katahdin lamb, pastured chicken and eggs, and delicious pork from pigs that are raised with care in natural, hardwood forests. Our offerings include a variety of meats, including lamb, chicken, turkey, pork, beef and eggs, all produced at our farm in Barkhamsted, Connecticut.


As a 64-acre farm run by Brent and Shannon, The Stead Farm is a labor of love with big dreams. Our family lives on the farm, integrating our animals, fields, and forests into our daily lives, and maintaining animal welfare and ethical farming practices is our top priority. We are certified by A Greener World (AGW), ensuring that we adhere to the highest standards of ethical husbandry. This certification provides transparency to our customers, assuring them that we are providing humanely raised meat. We are committed to AGW's certifications, including Animal Welfare Approved, certified grass-fed, and certified Non-GMO, and we are dedicated to upholding their standard of ethical farming practices. We aim to share the fruits of our labor with our customers through the flavorful and enriching experience of our regeneratively raised meats.
